Michael was drawn into talent acquisitions after seeing the impact that one of his first hires had on a client that his company was supporting. That customer-centric focus has stayed with him throughout his career, and he maintains a recruitment philosophy that sees customer experience as the defining mission.

In order to be effective in his role, Michael believes that it’s important to look beyond the walls of his job description and also gain experience in other tangential roles. Understanding the work of his colleagues makes Michael better equipped to find people who are not only good at their jobs, but that can also better support the broader mission of Stryker.

According to Micahel, this holistic approach to talent acquisition is at the heart of his industry. Understanding the unspoken needs of his organization, and the needs of its customers, is essential to becoming an effective talent acquisition leader.
